THE BUTTS AND SHOULDERS BOOT | FIRST PRODUCTION RUN OF LIMITED HAND NUMBERED 100 PAIRS STARTED

He guys maybe you remember a blog post from July 2015 when I introduced the BUTTS AND SHOULDERS boots. Some days ago my buddy Wouter Munnichs c/o BUTTS AND SHOULDERS and LONG JOHN blog told me that the production of these so nice boots started. After a testing phase on the streets and a lot of positive reactions, they start the first production run which will bring strictly limited 100 pairs to you. These boots are all hand numbered with a unique number – special – great idea, I like this a lot! The Boots are made of natural tanned leather in a small factory in Portugal – for sure made by hand with the “Goodyear Welted” construction. BUTTS AND SHOULDERS | FIRST EDITION OF 50 BAGS IS LAUNCHED

a week ago i got a mail from my friend WOUTER the guy behind LONG JOHN in which he wrote about a new brand named BUTTS AND SHOULDERS. WOUTER created BAS in collabaration with friends which share the same authentic passion he does. together they had the idea to create the ultimate travel bag. and now you can see the result after one year testing. 50 bags were made in the first run. here some more facts WOUTER told me: “Our Butts and Shoulders bag is made of 100% natural vegetable leather. damn, found an envelop with the LONG JOHN print on it – what a surprise. exciting, what's inside? great it's a shirt: the LONG JOHN X GO STERK & BLENDOMATIC tribute shirt to MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE. what a nice idea, what a wonderful high quality LEE shirt with a tasteful sailing ship print. The Long John platform stands for authenticity so we love this old way

of sending messages. This bottle ‘enveloppe’ goes back centuries and

was used by a lot of people on the sea.

In the 16th century, the English navy used message in a bottle to send ashore information about enemy positions. And during World War I soldiers used bottles to send

last messages to their loved ones.

A great story from May 2005 is about eighty-eight shipwrecked migrants at the coast of Costa Rica. They had placed a S.O.S. message in a bottle and tied it to one of the long lines of a passing fishing boat. They were all rescued!

The oldest message in a bottle was travelling more than 98 years in the sea

and was picked-up by a Scottish fisherman in 2012.
