Constant readers of LTG Blog know that I like blue RWS a lot. Two years ago I got the indigo colored classic work #8100 Oxford from Japan and I still love it. The #8882 is the same shoe just 6" high like the classic #875, moc toed, made of Indigo Portage Leather and completed by the Traction Tred Cushion Crepe Wedge. Very nice is the brown ending of the bootleg – a small detail, but I love the contrast between the rich blue and brown leather. Another nice feature: you don't get only the standard Red Wing Shoe Laces but a second pair made of leather. The leather laces look very nice but for me these are not so practical. HAND-DYED NATURAL INDIGO BANDANAS by ATELIER FUER BLAUDRUCK

some months ago i went to a nice artisan market in ASCHAFFENBURG, germany. there i found these wonderful triangle bandanas at a small and unremarkable stall. HOLGER STARCKEN is a so called BLAUDRUCKMEISTER and does all his wonderful stuff by hand. BLAUDRUCK (blue printing) has a more than 400 years old tradition in germany and is continued by the STARCKEN ATELIER which is located near BERLIN, germany. this BLAUDRUCK method can compared to batik dyeing. HOLGER STARCKEN is so cool, so unagitated. he does not need all this heritage and vintage odds and ends at his stall; his products speak for their selves - great!  i will visit STARCKEN again at 08th to 09th of november in  OFFENBACH at “Sammelsurium”. the site of the BLAUMACHER AUS BERLIN isn't so nice and informative ... but take a peek to learn more about BLAU MACHEN. pics | LTG

 

VINTAGE LEVI'S RED JEANS FOUND | PART II “HOLDEN”

this is the second pair of LEVI'S RED denim i found in my box. the “HOLDEN” must be from 2003 or earlier. it has a wide carpenter fit, a classic workpant with no backriser and a high hem. straight leg, bearing two unequal slash pockets and knife pocket on the left side leg, black sew-on suspender buttons and uneven belt loops. this HOLDEN is made from 10oz sulphur-dyed twill fabric which gives this special light blue color and worn out look. unfortunately the jeans got marks from storage – i do not know how this could happen. found the same HOLDEN but brand new in japan for 340 US $. it is apitty that it got a bit too small ... pics | LTG
